How To Decorate Your Mailbox For Christmas

As I previously mentioned, I wanted to decorate my mailbox this year. I found some inspiration on Pinterest but I did not know if I would be able to get magnolia leaves. On Friday I went to Lowe’s and purchased some cedar garland and managed to get a few Christmas tree trimmings. It was rainy and gloomy but if I was going to get this decorating done the week before Christmas, it was now or never. How The Grinch Stole Christmas THE FIRST ATTEMPT I spent a lot of the following Saturday working on the mailbox and what I ended up with was a monstrosity. The lime green color of the cedar, the silver picks, the red ornaments, and the big red bow shouted “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” It looked like I had stolen the Grinch’s hair to decorate the mailbox. But, thankfully, I ran into my neighbor who has a magnolia tree in their backyard and they cut some limbs for me. The next day I started over completely. How-To Make A Magnolia …

Dining Room Christmas Decor

I am much happier with this year’s Christmas decorations. Last year not so much. I did not have enough ornaments or picks, and I did not like my dining room table decor. I did not really like the decorations on my foyer table. This year, I am not completely thrilled with my dining room table but I like my tree. Christmas 2019 I purchased a few things after Christmas 2018. I decided I was going to do silver and gold and in October and November 2019, I scrambled to find inexpensive ornaments and picks to fill the tree. I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars so the tree, table, and china cabinet looked bare. My plan was to do some Christmas decor shopping after Christmas and to my surprise, once I went to TJMaxx/Homegoods and Hobby Lobby, there was nothing left to purchase. My mother, in another state, found all kinds of things at a local craft and decor store. She found tons of greenery, gold and silver ornaments (all sizes), picks, and …

Christmas Decorations

This year, not much changed with the red and silver areas of the house. I decorated less upstairs in the den but added some color to the garland on the banisters. I used some of the bells I purchased from Etsy upstairs and moved a few things around. CHRISTMAS 2019 Last year I used silver candlesticks, votives, a red and cream striped table runner, pinecones, and white poinsettia arrangement on the coffee table. I’d been collecting silver Christmas decor for years. After Christmas 2018, my mom and I found a lot of red and silver ornaments at TJMaxx so in 2019 I added red to my silver tree. I bought tons of green stems and picks, red berries, red ribbon, and a silver star topper. CHRISTMAS 2020 The cute “Merry Merry” Christmas towel I found last year at a local hardware store is on the dishwasher. I ordered the chinoiserie wreath towel from Etsy. I replaced the magnolia wreath outside with a different wreath and hung the magnolia wreath over the oven. I repurposed my …
