I am much happier with this year’s Christmas decorations. Last year not so much. I did not have enough ornaments or picks, and I did not like my dining room table decor. I did not really like the decorations on my foyer table. This year, I am not completely thrilled with my dining room table but I like my tree.
Christmas 2019
I purchased a few things after Christmas 2018. I decided I was going to do silver and gold and in October and November 2019, I scrambled to find inexpensive ornaments and picks to fill the tree. I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars so the tree, table, and china cabinet looked bare.

My plan was to do some Christmas decor shopping after Christmas and to my surprise, once I went to TJMaxx/Homegoods and Hobby Lobby, there was nothing left to purchase. My mother, in another state, found all kinds of things at a local craft and decor store. She found tons of greenery, gold and silver ornaments (all sizes), picks, and wreaths. Thankfully she picked up a few things and shipped them to me for me to use this year.
SHOP DECOR FROM CHRISTMAS 2019
Christmas 2020
So this year I was much more prepared. I ordered sale and clearance Christmas items up until this August. I had the gold ornaments from last year, the gold ornaments my mom bought for me last year and sent to me, and I had been slowly purchasing the white and gold ginger jar ornaments from Williams Sonoma all summer since they were on sale for half price.

In October 2019 I was perusing the Ballard Designs website and found these pine and gold glittered trees and wreath on clearance. I got them for almost 80% off. I wish I had ordered three. I also wish I had purchased the greenery chargers from Pier 1 two years ago because since going out of business, the new online Pier 1 store is not carrying the chargers and I had to settle for pine garland from Target cut in half as my greenery chargers.

The vintage style plates I found on clearance at Pottery Barn set the colors for the dining room area. I’m not crazy about the table runner but it was on clearance and it looked cute on the Pottery Barn website. I found similar patterned ribbon at Hobby Lobby a few months ago to use in the tree.

All the gold and silver trees came from TJMaxx/Homegoods. I added a few brass deer from Kirklands and two oversized glass ornaments that my mom found last year to the china cabinet this year.

I found the bells on Etsy. I hung them with twine on the antique record player and a couple of doors in other areas in the house.

My mom found the cedar garland last year. I put one piece on top of the foyer table and one piece on the mantle over the fireplace. I am not completely satisfied with the foyer table but it will do.

Last year I used the two mini trees outside of the front door in the black planters. This year I put one in a fishbowl planter. I used some of my extra ornaments to decorate it.
I can say I am pretty happy with the tree. Here it is day and night .
