Last year we put up the curtains. These windows are old and ugly. They also do not have any trim so the blinds and curtains definitely make them less ugly.

This is the window that I want to replace with French doors (so you can walk out on a deck that has not been built yet). So, until that happens, if it ever does, these curtains hide the old window and make the room look taller.

I also added a little greenery and ribbon to the framed artwork on both sides of the cabinet.

After a couple of years fighting Command Strips, which I despise because they do not work on these textured walls, last year I decided to try the viral garland hack, and purchased a $5 adjustable shower rail.

The garland didn’t make it easy but I finally got it wrapped around the shower rail and then used bobby-pins to attached the ribbon and strings of bells.

But this year, I had a better strand of garland to use and the process was a lot easier. I had a few greenery stems so I filled in any holes. It’s simple and doesn’t block the natural light.
