I love this room. I spend a lot of time sitting on the counter between the dishwasher and stove. I wish we could have taken out that big wall that separates the dining area and living room, but even though we didn’t, this room feels open and airy and clean.

We haven’t gotten around to doing any crown molding or trim work. My dad made me some pieces for the underside of the upper cabinets to cover the open bottoms. We used my old microwave and the ugly bulky black refrigerator for almost three years.

We recently purchased a stainless counter depth refrigerator and a stainless air fryer and microwave combo.

This faucet is the best thing ever. You tap it to turn it on. My mom has one and said it was worth every penny. My sister-in-law got one and agreed so I cut lighting costs so I could splurge on quality plumbing fixtures. Of course now, I try to tap every faucet I ever use because I have gotten so used to using this one.

This is a very small space so everything is organized meticulously and every plate, fork, pot, and pan has a specific home.

The dining area hasn’t changed much. But we did add some curtains. I chose an inexpensive, lightweight faux linen. They do puddle but that’s because I haven’t hemmed them yet. Hanging the rod to the ceiling really did make the room look taller.

The next interior projects on the list are a furnace (the electric one died a month ago), closet doors, and stair railing.
