New Living Room

We didn’t have time to remove the popcorn or retexture the walls so the solution was painting the ceiling the same color as the walls. This room is on the north side of the house so I went with a warmer white, Benjamin Moore White Dove in an eggshell. The trim is Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace in a semi-gloss.

Hopefully in the next couple of years we can add crown molding and maybe some chair rail molding. And of course some furniture upgrades would be nice too.

BEFORE

I had never seen a house like this before. It was and still is proving to be quite the project.

CONSTRUCTION

My parents and our friend, Anthony, were instrumental during this phase. Racing against the clock to get this place livable, as we were moving into the construction zone with only one shower, no kitchen, no blinds, no flooring in some areas, and no interior doors. It was the middle of winter which made everything more complicated and aggravating.

I remember starring down this hallway seven months ago and wondering if this house would ever be “finished.”

We’ve made a lot of progress. No room is completely finished. We are currently working on the hallway bathroom and next month, we are slapping a coat of paint on the outside (what I want to do to the outside will have to wait another couple of years).
