Tea Bayou

Our first stop on our moving journey was Kentucky (where my husband is from). His mother suggested I visit a new tea cafe downtown.  The owner is from Louisiana and was really nice. The store is so pretty and they have all kinds of teas. I love mint and recently started drinking mint green tea. The knowledgeable employee working that day made us a great iced tea using a mixture of spearmint and Chinese green tea called Chun Mee. I purchased the two teas he used and he gave me the measurements which I used today at home to make a pitcher with sugar of course. It turned out great. You can order all Tea Bayou’s teas online by visiting

Time For A Tea Review

It’s time for another tea review. All of these are samples that The Republic of Tea included in their catalogs. I received a sample of the Watermelon Mint Black Tea, Red Tea Pomegranate Vanilla, Cranberry Blood Orange, and the Organic Turmeric Ginger. I was so excited to try them but mostly about the Watermelon Mint because I love mint flavored teas so much. By the way, the diet green tea with mint from Sonic is awesome. You should try it. I have become addicted. I drank all of these teas iced (except the Red Tea Pomegranate Vanilla) and with sweetener. Now, on to the review. Watermelon Mint Black Tea The Republic of Tea describes this tea as follows: “This iced tea captures the essence of summer with the natural, fresh sweetness of sun-ripened watermelon finished with a touch of cool peppermint. A smooth base of fine black tea rounds out this bold, bright, refresher.” Well, it is sweet and smells great. It was not a minty as I had hoped and though it didn’t taste …

Tea Reviews

Another sample from the Republic of Tea, Blueberry Hibiscus Tea, smells so good and tastes good too. On scale from 1 to 10, I give it an 8. It was like drinking a blueberry muffin. I sweetened it but alone I am sure it is pretty sweet. I was so excited to find out that World Market carries tea from The Republic of Tea. I have been meaning to order a few of the Cuppa Chocolate Teas.  So, on a World Market visit I purchased the Strawberry Cuppa Chocolate Tea  which is a rooibos tea with chocolate and strawberry flavors. The flavors are not overpowering and with a little sweetener, it is like drinking dessert. On a scale from 1 to 10, I give it an 8. I think I will try the Red Velvet Cuppa Chocolate Tea next.
