It’s been a long time since I did a tea review. I have gotten several samples from The Republic of Tea and from my friend at Kitchens| Design and Utilize. The Organic Strawberry Basil Iced Green Tea from The Republic of Tea smells amazing and has a very interesting taste. Their description: This organic, farmers’ market-inspired iced green tea combines sun-ripened strawberries and fresh basil. Basil provides an herbal accent to subtly sweet berries for a sophisticated summer sip.
You smell the strawberry and really taste the basil. This tea was light and refreshing. Of course I added four Splenda packets so it was sweet strawberry basil iced tea. Even my husband liked it. I rate this tea (on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best) a “7.” It is a nice flavored green tea. It’s organic and it makes me think of summer.
The Pomberry Black Hi-Caf Tea is from The Republic of Tea and the sample came from Kitchens| Design and Utilize. Their description: Fine black tea with the juicy flavors of pomegranate and blueberry. Perfect for a midday fruit-filled energy buzz without the added sugar. A Better Buzz – We’ve intensified the caffeine content of this black tea by adding green tea extract and pure caffeine isolated from premium tea leaves. Caffeine and L-Theanine (often credited with reducing stress) are natural components of tea providing a state of calm alertness we call Tea Mind®.
This had a great flavor. I used four Splendas and drank it iced. I rate this tea a “7” too.
This is another sample from Kitchens| Design and Utilize of Get Burning® – Herb Tea for Metabolism from The Republic of Tea which is a hot cinnamon ginger tea. Their description: Warming Herbs – Feeling sluggish? This spicy herbal blend was created to help rev up your internal engine. It’s a tasty way to increase the body’s metabolism and resistance to stress.* It has an organic green rooibos base, sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms, with holy basil, a long-revered herb said to increase energy and the body’s resistance to stress.* Cordyceps, a traditional medicinal herb used by Chinese athletes to boost energy and endurance,* and the invigorating kick of chili peppers complete the package. This tea stimulates the body without taxing our vital systems.
This stuff woke me up. I drank it hot with four Splendas. I liked the flavor, the ginger and cinnamon blended nice together and one didn’t overpower the other. I think this would be a great alternative to coffee. I rate this tea “6” even though I liked the flavor, it wasn’t my favorite.
